Elemental Air Meditation
Physical Meditation, Invoking the Air:For this meditation, sit comfortably and face east, preferably outdoors where you can feel the breeze and the air moving. In this exercise you will focus on a calm, steady breath as you invoke the element of air. The air holds moisture and that is why it is said to be warm and and wet, the properties associated with this element. Feel this warm wet of the air as you visualize the air surrounding you, and moving within you as you calmly breath it in. Waves of invigorating and bright energy flows through you, as all of your cares and worries move out into the air. Air is associated with mental activities, thoughts and intelligence. An invocation of the air element can help to balance the emotions, as it can release stagnant thoughts and ideas.
You are of the Air, and the Air is within you. Practice this for a few minutes, and pay attention to the feelings and emotions in your experience. The next time you do this exercise, re-create this feeling to feel uplifted and renewed.
Emotional Mediation
The emotional aspects of the Air element are intelligent, just, fair, truthful, balanced, sensual, insighful, organized, witty, communicative, knowing. But it can also represent pride, injustice, ambiguity, imbalance, foolishness, laziness, apathy, indecision, and deceit. Feel free to explore any of these emotions during meditation. During that week of meditations, observe yourself and others around you – do they act fair to others, communicative, or withdrawn? Do you know others that are insightful, truthful or deceitful? These human emotions relate to Mercurial 'airy' elemental qualities.
Spiritual Meditation:Meditate on the relation between Lucifer and the Air. Lucifer, a pre-christian, Roman and Greek god, represented the illumination of the Eastern star. He was the Torchbearer to Apollo, god of the sun, leading us to explore how knowledge and wisdom can lead to self enlightenment. In his roman legends it is said that he was born of the eastern winds. As a god of the stars, his element is the air. It is only through this relation to the air that Lucifer could be related to the planetary energies of Mercury. While Lucifer did act as the bringer or messenger of light, he is not related to the winged Mercury. The Romans represented Venus and Lucifer, both as the eastern star. The symbol of Venus is the pentacle, the star with the point facing upwards. During your meditation on Lucifer, visualize the Sword, a symbol of the air, and a tool of the magician. The sword is a symbol of power and commandment, through the force of will. The sword is also symbolic of cutting away what is not needed, in order to reveal the truth.
More: Purpose and Guidelines to Consider The Goal of these meditations is to awaken your senses to the role that the metaphysical elements fulfill in our everyday lives. These meditations will also help you to align yourself with these energies so that you can set up a working Satanic altar, consecrate your satanic ritual tools with these elements, and use elemental witchcraft. Once you are familiar with each element you will be prepared and you will have a great foundation to work with. We will begin with Earth [South], and progress towards Water [West]. These meditations should be done for at least 15 minutes per day, or as often as you desire, each element for at least five days. You do not have to worry about 'opening your third eye'. The third eye is the mind and its ability to visualize, so as long as you have been able to visualize (and you have been since childhood) you have been using the mind's eye. If you experience headaches or pressure during meditation, its time to relax and focus on steady breathing to calm yourself.
You will approach this method in three different ways using your mind's eye: Physically through exercises of invocation, Emotionally, through feeling and experience, and spiritually through a meditation on each representative demonic god of the elements.
