Elemental Fire Meditation
Physical Meditation, Invoking the Air:For this mediation, you can be outdoors where you can safely build a small bonfire, or indoors where you can meditate on fire by using the flame of a candle. Working with fire or any kind of flame can be very dangerous, destructive and deadly, of course, so use reasonable caution with this exercise. For this meditation, sit comfortably and face towards the north. With this practice you will focus on the energizing, intense energy of the element of fire. The qualities associated with this element feel hot and dry. As you focus on the tip of the flame think of the element of fire and all of its vibrant and destructive qualities. Fire is greedy in that it will take whatever is available to be used, and consume it until there is nothing left. Feel the waves of the energy of fire move through you, energizing your being. Fire is associated with action, energy, movement, and even recklessness..It can help you to unblock things that have been standing in your way.
You are of the fire and the fire is within you. Practice this exercise for a few minutes, and pay attention to the feelings and emotions in your experience. The next time you do this exercise, re-create this feeling to feel energized.
Emotional Mediation
The emotional aspects of the Fire element are the ego, desire, motivation, movement, haste, war, battles, anger, rage, blood, desire, lust, passion, pride, recklessness, and danger. It can also represent leadership and influence. Feel free to explore any of these emotions during meditation. During that week of meditations, observe yourself and others around you – observe others who you know are angry, reckless or driven by desire. These human emotions relate to the Martian and Solar 'firey' elemental qualities.
Spiritual Meditation:Meditate on the relation between Belial and the element of Fire. Belial, originally a god of the earth, takes on a role as the energy of lust, passion and desire. The name Bel, or Bal , means lord or god. The surname Ya'al could mean that which is good and profitable. So, the name Belial can be translated as the "Lord of all that is good and profitable". The name also has a Hebrew origin and meaning that is used within versions of the bible. It is derived from the word Beli meaning without and ya'al meaning profit. It is very obvious from the bible's writings that many god's names became translated into something negative, and 'evil', to present these ancient gods as fallen. The Satanic bible lists Belial as the crown prince of the north, representing Earth. I have an issue with the method that LaVey presents. Firstly he took these representations for the four crown princes from the Sacred Book of Abramelin the Mage, and he used a Hebrew and Christian system of recognition for the four Princes, and their corresponding elements. In this system of mine, earth is represented by Satan, and there is a conflict with the ideas of LaVey - It is a christian belief that satan comes from a fiery place called 'Hell'.
However, historically, Belial as a god of fertility, does represent the earth because of the association of creation, but in this system that I present, Belial is the element of fire, representing lust, desire and ego, greed and all the things represented by this force. The quotes and information for this essay was sourced from "Belial - Restoring the Demon", an alternative etymology of the name of Belial, at the Jeremy Crow website.
More: Purpose and Guidelines to Consider The Goal of these meditations is to awaken your senses to the role that the metaphysical elements fulfill in our everyday lives. These meditations will also help you to align yourself with these energies so that you can set up a working Satanic altar, consecrate your satanic ritual tools with these elements, and use elemental witchcraft. Once you are familiar with each element you will be prepared and you will have a great foundation to work with. We will begin with Earth [South], and progress towards Water [West]. These meditations should be done for at least 15 minutes per day, or as often as you desire, each element for at least five days. You do not have to worry about 'opening your third eye'. The third eye is the mind and its ability to visualize, so as long as you have been able to visualize (and you have been since childhood) you have been using the mind's eye. If you experience headaches or pressure during meditation, its time to relax and focus on steady breathing to calm yourself.
You will approach this method in three different ways using your mind's eye: Physically through exercises of invocation, Emotionally, through feeling and experience, and spiritually through a meditation on each representative demonic god of the elements.
