This brings us to the study of demons, and demonology. Demonology is the study and categorization of demons for the purpose of study. There are several different types of demonology, depending on the kinds of cultures studied. Unfortunately, much of the information on demons recorded by cultures other than their own origin is actually false, and untrue. For instance, Christian cultures saw the gods of other cultures as "demons". Through the development of religions, the gods of old had been [demonized] by the beliefs of the new religions.
So, in order to really study the history of demons, it is also helpful to study the ancient cultures that surrounded them. The Catholic Encyclopedia mentions that there are several kinds of demonology, like Jewish demonology, Assyrian, Akkadian, Iranian, and other kinds, from cultures around the world. Many cultures have borrowed from one another to weave the stories that we know of today.
The Path of the Self
The worship and the study of "demons" is called Demonolatry. This area of Spiritual Satanism is a path of self-strength and true purpose. The practitioner has to concentrate on their own desires while working in accord with demonic entities. This spiritual path is unique, as it takes parts of various traditions, cultures and practices, breaks them down to their essence; and incorporates it into a new Satanic reality. This is possible, because their knowings have been recorded into the Akashic ,the entire record of humanities thoughts deeds and actions since the beginning of time. There are other theories on how they are able to contain this power. Thus, Demon Gods are seen as a source of knowledge, wisdom and enlightenment. For many, they are the role-model or inspiration represented within their faith-system. Some have claimed that these beings were effectively banished over time so that this knowledge could remain hidden from the general public.Perhaps, this is why according to the Christian tale and rule that, "knowledge is forbidden!". Knowledge is no more dangerous than the person using it, or controlling it, and the Christians have taken advantage of this fact for too long. Within the spiritual path of this religion, the practitioner also sees the self as the potential god-source, or is in a spiritual search for God-Hood in some way. This may be the only few religions in the world, as we know it today, that advocates self-deification. This would be a very personal, mystical experience, possibly taking a lifetime of study, occult work, and meditations.
