One of my favorite documentaries of all time is the Occult Experience. Produced in 1989, it shows an array of people involved in occult activities. Among these are Anton LaVey, leader of the Church of Satan from his earlier “Satanis” production, and Michael Aquino and his wife, Lilith, both leaders of the Temple of Set. I like that Satanism was included in this documentary with a straightforward angle, actually getting interviews with the people involved in Satanism and Witchcraft.
This documentary also explores witchcraft with Selena Fox doing an outdoor ritual with her coven. Then they move on to the path of Alexandrian Witchcraft, with a special appearance by the King of the Witches, Alex Sanders in a revealing skyclad ritual. The path of Dianic Wicca is also explored with Z Budapest, a feminist witch. These paths are discussed showing what it is like for a solitary practitioner or in a group setting, for one who belongs to a coven.
In combination with all of this the fantasy artist H R Geiger’s work is discussed with the artist himself. It’s a short documentary packed with information about how Occultism thrived during that era. It’s definitely worth a watch just to see what occultists do. This is a delightful documentary! Below is a preview of this wonderful documentary. Unfortunately this item is only available as a VHS at Amazon. Hopefully someday they will reissue it as a DVD.
The path of the Luciferian is focused on the central figure of Lucifer as a source of knowledge and enlightenment. Expand your knowledge and dive into the Wisdom of Eosphoros: The Luciferian Philosophy that will teach you what Luciferians believe, what they practice and how they apply this philosophy in their life in a practical way. This is a workbook for spiritual transformation provided by the Greater Church of Lucifer. The Greater Church of Lucifer was founded by Michael Ford, and with his decades of occult experience he provides this enlightening book to those who are curious about Luciferianism.
Produced and written by the Greater Church of Lucifer, Wisdom of Eosphoros: The Luciferian Philosophy serves as an introductory text on the path of Luciferianism, and the guidelines of the Church of Lucifer. This includes insights from Jeremy Crow, Hope Marie and Jacob No, three long-time Luciferians who know and understand the path of Luciferianism. This beginners guide serves to teach you the art of self empowerment and enlightenment in the Luciferian tradition, and a method for applying these teachings in your life.
Lucifer, known by many names both dark and light, is presented in this book as a bringer of enlightenment, unmasking hir as both a god and a devil. Lucifer’s story is found throughout the ages, as a go of witches, as the morning star and the planet Venus.
Along with this traditional Gnostic interpretation, some of the rituals found in The Rites of Lucifer include Light and Darkness in Luciferian Gnosis, Invocation of the Dark Initiator, The Mind of Lucifer, Lucifer as the Trickster and Shadow companion and so much more. Special Guest authors include Rev Bill Duvendack, Edgar Kerval, Daemon Barzai, Cristian Velasco, and Pairika Eva Borowska. For those seeking a spiritual and classical religious path to Lucifer this book would make a great companion for your journey.
One reviewer commented..”The Rites of Lucifer is a bit of history, a bit of knowledge, and a lot of ritual as guidance for you way upon the LHP, Mason’s style of writing will draw you in, it’s easy to comprehend and absorb, much wisdom is within it’s pages.. ” The author Asenath Mason states in the forward: “Our wish is to spread and develop the magical current of Lucifer and other Draconian Gods among practitioners, promote it as an effective tool of self-initiation and expand through active work and application of theory into practice. ”
Originally collected as a series of pamphlets made only for the high priesthood of the Church of Satan, the rituals in this book are multi-cultural and expand on the method of group ritual for Satanists who are interested in the works of Anton LaVey.
The Satanic Rituals serve as a companion to the Satanic Bible, so reading it by itself will not give you a complete idea of how Anton LaVey wanted his rituals to work. Once you have read the Satanic Bible, this ritual book will provide you with the necessary skills on how to perform Satanic ritual. Some of the rituals included are his infamous “Black Mass” and the history behind this controversial ceremony. An example of a Satanic Baptism is also included.
One reviewer mused, in the words of LaVey: “A must have. The Satanic Rituals and The Satanic Bible are the two most influential books I have ever read. Satan demands study not worship!” Quoted from the introduction: “The ingredients of Satanic ritual are not designed to hold the celebrant in thrall, but rather to serve his goals. Thus, fantasy is utilized as a magic weapon by the individual rather than by the system. The essence of Satanic ritual and Satanism itself, if taken up out of logic rather than desperation, is to objectively enter into a subjective state.”

Early on, they outline the “big tent” of Paganism that shelters a dozen or more passageways (Wicca, Druidism, Shamanism, Santeria, etc.), comparing it to Christianity and its popular denominations”
If you want to study Paganism in more detail, Paganism an Introduction to Earth-Centered Religions will give you a good start. It is a useful book for those that want to learn about Paganism as a whole. Highly rated!

By Joseph C. Lisiewski Checkmark Books; 1 edition (August 1, 2009) Pages: 302 ISBN-10: 0816073155 | ISBN-13: 978-0816073153
With Ceremonial Magic and the Power of Evocation you will learn more than just the art of summoning spirits. Lisiewski, a respected author in this field, brings forth over 40 years of work in this magical field to teach you the art of evocation.
Based on Heptameron of Peter de Abano, a forgotten grimorie that has escaped the attention of modern Ceremonialists, its simplicity and power in summoning the Aerial Spirits for each day of the week is second to none. Ceremonial Magic lays bare the operation of the Heptameron. It is all here, as in no other Grimoire. In Dr. Lisiewski’s first of several books on Magic and the Occult, with introduction by Christopher Hyatt and S. Jason Black, he opens the world of magical evocation to the student in a way that assumes nothing.
More than just getting demons to do your bidding, you will learn something more about yourself along the way. A must-have for any student seeking to hone their edge on the esoteric art of evocation. One reviewer of the Ceremonial Magic and the Power of Evocation stated: “The author continually restates important concepts so that the teachings will blossom in your mind, which will allow you to integrate his teachings to improve your own individual life.”
From his wonderful introduction, “Within these pages you will find not only a system of hard-core magical practice that will enable you to succeed in evocation, but an eclectic and very effective philosophy that can be used to build your own system of general magic, just like all of those successful magicians out there – both known and unknown – have forged for themselves, and which some even write about. Systems that work for them. And now you can do the same with this text. ”

The Dictionary of Demons lists from a-z more than 1,500 demons found throughout the world. For those that are simply curious to those that take demonology as a serious study, this book is a handy reference to finding out more about demons and their histories.
In the Dictionary of Demons, the Demons are described by their histories, cross referenced, and in addition, given an elemental or planetary association. Along with this are a wealth of illustrations, from the classic woodcuts, to paintings of yore. Anyone serious about studying demons will find a wealth of knowledge within.
As one reviewer stated..”Whether you believe, disbelieve or are indifferent to the concept of demons, the spiritual concept and sociological ideology behind the need to identify or create demons in human society is fascinating. In the well-researched book Dictionary of Demons by Michelle Belanger, the reader is introduced to an alphabetized pantheon of demon names, histories, side notes and indices that delve into this spiritually torrid and intellectually intriguing topic.”
A quote about Demon’s names from Michelle Belanger: “Words had power in the ancient world, and few words were viewed with more fear than those that named the forces of evil. Among many ancient people, the names of demons and devils were thought to act as a kind of beacon, calling those beings up from the depths whenever their names were uttered. ”

The Black Arts By Richard Cavendish catalogs the practices and beliefs found within black magic. It covers summoning and ceremonial magic, Devil Worship and the Black Mass, charms spells and talismans, and other branches of the occult, like alchemy, numerology, astrology and the Tarot. Magicians and occult figures from the past to the present [circa 1950’s] are reviewed, along with descriptions of some of the popular Grimories of magic.
Along with this he delves into the philosophy of past and present magic workers, giving insightful interpretations of their work. This makes a great beginner’s book as it outlines the various branches of the occult, but with a darker flavor.
One reviewer stated: “The Black Arts By Richard Cavendish focuses a lot on Western Esoteric Art. I still have the book in my Library/Den. It is well worth purchasing for the knowledge within, as with most Esoteric Books, those drawn to this area, are explorers, wanting to expand ones consciousness. It has been on my book shelf for over 35 years. Always enjoy coming back to read/study the House of Cavendish, “Black Arts.”
From the introduction by Richard Cavendish: “In occultism the serpent is a symbol of wisdom, and for centuries magicians have devoted themselves to the search for the forbidden fruit which would bring fulfillment of the serpent’s promise. Carried to its furthest extreme, the black magician’s ambition is to wield supreme power over the entire universe, to make himself a god.”
