Written for solitary practitioners of the high magic arts, this book will help to guide you on the art of ritual magick. Based on Hermetics and planetary magick, it’s easy to understand formula will show you the basics of meditation and visualization, and important and necessary step in magick. Learn about charging and using the tools of magic, how to use talismans and amulets, and how to practice psychic self defense. No matter what your path is these are the basics of ritual magic that you can carry with you for a lifetime.
As a guidebook the lessons progress from easy to complex so it is perfect for those who are just beginning ritual magic. This book is also a great introduction to the works of Crowley and the Golden dawn, because it works with many of the same basic rituals that they use in those ancient systems of ritual magick. You do not necessarily have to be a fan of Crowley or the Golden Dawn to appreciate this book, however as it covers many of the basic aspects of ritual magic in general in a way that allows you to adapt it to your own personal style.
I always recommend that before you get into summoning from the Goeita you should have a basic understanding of high (ritual) magic so that you can get results. This book makes for a great introduction to all the things you may need to know to work ritual ceremonial magick, including how to create and perform your own magical rituals.
A Tarot Classic!
Aleister Crowley, Lady Frieda Harris’ Tarot project was the Thoth Tarot deck. This deck is a 78 card, full color deck, perfect for those who are fans of Aleister Crowley’s work, or those who are experienced with Tarot who are looking to expand their knowledge and experience of Tarot reading. This is the large (3.75 x 5.5) format.
These cards are suited for not just reading material situations, but for a deeper purpose of ritual and meditative work. I enjoy using this deck for personal rituals, where I use the Invocation of the Holy Guardian Angel from the Book of Thoth, and then draw one card to be used for meditation on spiritual matters
The Thoth Tarot was painted by Lady Frieda Harris under instruction from Aleister Crowley. Crowley named this deck the Book of Thoth and included an instructional book by the same name. The creation of the deck spanned 5 years between the research and re-working of the deck and it’s beautiful imagery gathered from his personal experiences in the occult.
Of course, the deck comes with it’s own ‘little white book’ that helps you to understand the cards.
The companion book, “The Book of Thoth: A Short Essay on the Tarot of the Egyptians, Being the Equinox Volume III No. V” written by Crowley is the deck’s companion book and should be referred to in order to understand the meanings. But, this deck was best interpreted by Lon Milo DuQuette, in his book, Understanding Aleister Crowley’s Thoth Tarot, providing updated information and clarity to those that want to understand this deck to it’s fullest. While Crowley was in a class of his own among other occultists, DuQuette in his own wisdom provides a clear and concise interpretation of this deck that will offer you so much more than just the Thoth book alone. This classic deck is a wonderful addition for any serious student of the Occult.
The original Satanic Ritual Book!
Publisher: Avon; Reissue edition (December 1, 1976)
ISBN-10: 0380013924 | ISBN-13: 978-0380013920
Originally collected as a series of pamphlets made only for the high priesthood of the Church of Satan, the rituals in this book are multi-cultural and expand on the method of group ritual for Satanists who are interested in the works of Anton LaVey.
The Satanic Rituals serve as a companion to the Satanic Bible, so reading it by itself will not give you a complete idea of how Anton LaVey wanted his rituals to work. Once you have read the Satanic Bible, this ritual book will provide you with the necessary skills on how to perform Satanic ritual. Some of the rituals included are his infamous “Black Mass” and the history behind this controversial ceremony. An example of a Satanic Baptism is also included.
One reviewer mused, in the words of LaVey: “A must have. The Satanic Rituals and The Satanic Bible are the two most influential books I have ever read. Satan demands study not worship!” Quoted from the introduction: “The ingredients of Satanic ritual are not designed to hold the celebrant in thrall, but rather to serve his goals. Thus, fantasy is utilized as a magic weapon by the individual rather than by the system. The essence of Satanic ritual and Satanism itself, if taken up out of logic rather than desperation, is to objectively enter into a subjective state.”

Discover the world of Demons, magic and summoning!
By Joseph C. Lisiewski
Checkmark Books; 1 edition (August 1, 2009)
ISBN-10: 0816073155 | ISBN-13: 978-0816073153
With Ceremonial Magic and the Power of Evocation you will learn more than just the art of summoning spirits. Lisiewski, a respected author in this field, brings forth over 40 years of work in this magical field to teach you the art of evocation.
Based on Heptameron of Peter de Abano, a forgotten grimorie that has escaped the attention of modern Ceremonialists, its simplicity and power in summoning the Aerial Spirits for each day of the week is second to none. Ceremonial Magic lays bare the operation of the Heptameron. It is all here, as in no other Grimoire. In Dr. Lisiewski’s first of several books on Magic and the Occult, with introduction by Christopher Hyatt and S. Jason Black, he opens the world of magical evocation to the student in a way that assumes nothing.
More than just getting demons to do your bidding, you will learn something more about yourself along the way. A must-have for any student seeking to hone their edge on the esoteric art of evocation. One reviewer of the Ceremonial Magic and the Power of Evocation stated: “The author continually restates important concepts so that the teachings will blossom in your mind, which will allow you to integrate his teachings to improve your own individual life.”
From his wonderful introduction, “Within these pages you will find not only a system of hard-core magical practice that will enable you to succeed in evocation, but an eclectic and very effective philosophy that can be used to build your own system of general magic, just like all of those successful magicians out there – both known and unknown – have forged for themselves, and which some even write about. Systems that work for them. And now you can do the same with this text. ”

By Richard Cavendish
TarcherPerigee; 40th Revised ed. edition (January 1, 1983)
ISBN-10: 0399500359 | ISBN-13: 978-0399500350
The Black Arts By Richard Cavendish catalogs the practices and beliefs found within black magic. It covers summoning and ceremonial magic, Devil Worship and the Black Mass, charms spells and talismans, and other branches of the occult, like alchemy, numerology, astrology and the Tarot. Magicians and occult figures from the past to the present [circa 1950’s] are reviewed, along with descriptions of some of the popular Grimories of magic.
Along with this he delves into the philosophy of past and present magic workers, giving insightful interpretations of their work. This makes a great beginner’s book as it outlines the various branches of the occult, but with a darker flavor.
One reviewer stated: “The Black Arts By Richard Cavendish focuses a lot on Western Esoteric Art. I still have the book in my Library/Den. It is well worth purchasing for the knowledge within, as with most Esoteric Books, those drawn to this area, are explorers, wanting to expand ones consciousness. It has been on my book shelf for over 35 years. Always enjoy coming back to read/study the House of Cavendish, “Black Arts.”
From the introduction by Richard Cavendish: “In occultism the serpent is a symbol of wisdom, and for centuries magicians have devoted themselves to the search for the forbidden fruit which would bring fulfillment of the serpent’s promise. Carried to its furthest extreme, the black magician’s ambition is to wield supreme power over the entire universe, to make himself a god.”

Based on a classical and notorious books on ceremonial black magic and summoning, The Grimorium Verum discusses demons, demonology and the dark arts. Containing a catalog of demons and methods of their summoning, it is an up-to date version that is easier to work with. Grimorium Verum by Joseph H. Peterson combines French and Italian texts on this subject, so a more complete interpretation is available in this book. This modernized text includes useful methods of ritual, an outline of demonic theology, and extensive notation on these subjects.
As one reviewer stated: “The Grimorium Verum is one of the more reputable sources of Medieval Christian demonology, specifically drawing from French and Italian heritages. In his translation, Joseph Peterson does not simply choose one text to draw from but rather combines several versions, looking to create a sort of “master version” of the text using the French and even disparate Italian versions. Between these three he not only compiles both nearly lost texts but through diligent sourcing and constant citation manages to create linkages and suggest connections between the text that may be lost on someone who is not prepared to slog through two languages to try and draw those connections him or herself.”
