The Specialized Recruiting Group of Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper for a busy client in the Ithaca and Cortland area for a long term assignment. Position requires previous experience in either accounting, billing, A/R, A/P, payroll and strong customer service skills. Must be proficient in Excel. Most work is done in QuickBooks so must be proficient in that software.

• Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Reconcile vendor statements and customer accounts
• Process invoices, payments, and collections accurately and timely
• Handle the collections process
• Maintain general ledger and assist with month-end and year-end closings
• Handle bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow
• Maintain organized records and ensure compliance with accounting standards

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a distribution or inventory-based environment
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks required
• Solid understanding of AP/AR processes and general accounting principles
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Strong Excel skills and comfort with data entry and reporting
• Customer service attitude
