Environmental Health & Safety Specialist | Fremont, MI

Salary Range: $66,000 - $99,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with multiple companies in Fremont seeking experienced Environmental Health & Safety Specialists. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing preventative measures.
  • Deliver EHS training programs to employees, covering topics such as hazard communication, emergency response, and personal protective equipment.
  • Manage hazardous waste programs, ensuring proper storage, disposal, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate EHS records and prepare reports for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead emergency response efforts, including fire prevention, spill containment, and medical emergencies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into manufacturing processes and new product development.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related science/engineering field.
  • 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other federal/state EHS regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and manage EHS programs.
  • Experience conducting EHS audits, inspections, and incident investigations.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 management systems
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM
  • Experience with developing and delivering EHS training programs
  • Proficiency in EHS software platforms for data management and reporting
