Overview

We are seeking a skilled and driven Executive Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef in leading kitchen operations at a high-performing culinary establishment in Phoenix. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values consistency and quality, and is passionate about delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing all kitchen operations, including prep, service, and sanitation
• Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff to maintain high performance and morale
• Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and adherence to recipes and standards
• Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control to meet budget targets
• Maintain compliance with local health and safety regulations
• Oversee scheduling and labor management to optimize efficiency
• Step in as acting Executive Chef when needed
• Collaborate on menu development, seasonal offerings, and specials
• Monitor kitchen cleanliness and organization at all times

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in a Sous Chef or senior kitchen leadership role
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Deep knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety standards
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Experience with inventory systems and cost control practices
• Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred

Preferred Experience

• Experience in upscale, fine dining, or high-volume hospitality environments
