BJC HealthCare is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Home Infusion Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this field-based role, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients receiving IV infusions and related therapies in the comfort and safety of their homes. The Home Infusion Registered Nurse provides direct patient care in the home setting, performing comprehensive nursing assessments, initiating and managing IV infusions, and overseeing the care of peripheral and central venous access devices such as PICCs and implanted ports. You will administer medications including antibiotics, biologics, hydration, and other specialty therapies, carefully monitoring patient responses and intervening promptly when changes in condition occur. Using strong clinical judgment, you will identify potential complications, escalate concerns appropriately, and support safe transitions of care. Education is a central component of this role. The Home Infusion RN partners closely with patients and their caregivers to teach medication schedules, infusion techniques, catheter care, symptom recognition, and infection prevention practices. You will empower patients to take an active role in their treatment while ensuring they understand how to manage their therapies safely at home. Clear, thorough, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record will reflect your assessments, interventions, education, and communication with the broader care team. Collaboration is integral to success at BJC HealthCare. In this position, you will work alongside physicians, pharmacists, case managers, and other clinicians to coordinate individualized plans of care and optimize patient outcomes. You will participate in case conferencing, communicate clinical updates, and help refine treatment plans based on patient progress. Consistent with BJC’s focus on safety, quality, and ethical practices, you will adhere to established protocols, regulatory and accreditation standards, and infection control policies throughout every aspect of care. This role requires a high degree of autonomy, accountability, and organization. As a Home Infusion Registered Nurse, you will manage your own daily schedule, travel between patient homes within your assigned territory, and prioritize visits based on acuity and service needs. You will assess each home environment for safety, provide guidance to patients and families on maintaining a clean and appropriate care space, and ensure that all equipment and supplies are used, transported, and stored in accordance with policy and best practice.
