If you're a motivated, detail-oriented college student interested in Human Resources, Business, or Public Administration, this is your chance to gain hands-on experience inside a fast-paced municipal Human Resources department. You won't just observe, you'll actively contribute to meaningful projects that support an entire city workforce. This paid internship provides professional mentorship from experienced HR leaders offering exposure to every major area of Human Resources, ideal for students who want to graduate career ready. Must be a local student able to work onsite year-round.
Will work approximately 18 to 20 hours per week when school is in session and up to 40 hours a week when school is not in session. This schedule is ideal for students looking for consistent experience during the school year and full-time hours during summer or winter break. Reliable attendance is important for this position. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
This position will assist the HR staff with researching, planning, and coordinating a variety of HR programs. Once the successful candidate is trained and proficient, will be given independent projects and work assignments in addition to working together with the team.
This position pays $20.00/hr. This part-time position may be pension qualified with the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) but is not eligible for health insurance benefits.
