Responsibilities Apply insulating materials and surface claddings and coating to pipes, vessels, tanks, ductwork and associated equipment Cover, seal or finish insulated surfaces or access holes with plastic covers, canvas strips, sealants, tape, cement or asphalt mastic Determine the amount, types and method of insulation needed Fit and shape insulating materials Measure and cut insulation using tape measures, handsaws, knives and scissors Use tools to install insulation such as pin snips, cutting shears, knives, channel locks, etc. Read blueprints and specifics to determine job specifications Prepare surfaces for insulation application Load and unload materials Stage materials in proper site areas Observe and comply with all safety process and procedures On-the-job training offered This position is safety-sensitive.
