Position Description
Advertised Job Summary Help Desk Technicians are a vital part of the USC Upstate Division of
Information Technology (DoIT). Help Desk Technicians serve the campus
community by helping students and employees with any technological
needs to the best of their ability before gaining assistance from other
members of the DoIT team. Troubleshooting these issues takes place over
telephone conversations, in-person, through remote-support sessions, and/or
via e-mail.
Qualifications Candidates should be familiar with everyday use of the following:
Microsoft or Apple operating systems, Android or iOS smartphone
operating systems, various software such as Microsoft Office 365 & Adobe
products. Candidates need to have a basic understanding of how a computer
works and be able to define the basic function of individual pieces of
computer hardware. Professionalism, good communication skills, basic
problem-solving skills, punctuality, and reliability are also important. (Any
level of customer service and/or IT experience is a plus.)
