Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture and specimen collection from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established practices and procedures.

Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing with accuracy and attention to detail.

Maintain detailed records and documentation of collected specimens and procedures.

Explain procedures to patients to create an atmosphere of trust and confidence, ensuring their comfort and understanding.

Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality while maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.

Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area according to facility policies.

Participate in staffing shifts that may include weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime, as needed.

Required Skills

Strong phlebotomy skills with experience in pediatric and geriatric blood draws.

Ability to perform work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent customer service skills for interacting with diverse patient populations.

Data entry and keyboarding skills for maintaining accurate records.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Additional Skills & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Minimum of six months of direct phlebotomy experience required; over one year preferred.

Customer service experience in retail or service environments is a plus.

Reliable transportation to the worksite; candidates should list their home city and commute time within 20-25 minutes on their resume.

Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

Must demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and commitment to scheduled shifts; excessive tardiness or absenteeism may lead to termination.
