Description

As a Landscape Architect / Landscape Architectural Designer at Creative Environments, 5-8 years of professional experience in Landscape Architecture or a related field, with a professional degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or a related discipline is required. Licensure or progress toward licensure is preferred. Candidates must be proficient in CAD, LandFX, Adobe Suites, and have excellent digital visualization and freehand graphics skills. Experience with 3D software (Rhino3D, SketchUp, 3ds Max, Lumion, Enscape) is advantageous. Candidates should exhibit strong design, detailing, and construction documentation skills, possess knowledge of Arizona planting, and have site grading knowledge. The role demands professional work habits, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple assignments while mentoring junior staff. Key responsibilities include providing design solutions, supporting, and leading project tasks, project management, producing deliverables, developing designs, conducting research, and client coordination.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide design solutions for moderate to difficult projects including model complexes, open spaces and communities, or projects ranging from 500-800k
  • Work with a team of landscape architects, designers, 3d designers. Responsibilities will vary by project, sometimes assisting or mentoring others and other times leading tasks.
  • Support lead designers or project managers with tasks such as site analysis, site design, problem solving, construction detailing, planting plans, selection and design of site amenities and paving systems, aesthetic detailing, and design development.
  • Provide design project management, project support, or both depending on the project and project team. This will include working closely with the project team to produce project deliverables, develop forward-thinking designs, strategies, and materials to facilitate project meetings
  • Produce conceptual exhibits, illustrative graphics, and help in full construction document set production.
  • Conduct project research and project reports; prepare design presentations; provide support in developing cost estimates; respond to construction submittals and questions; provide sub-consultant and client coordination; and attend client meetings.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Required software proficiency in architectural software like CAD/LandFX/Adobe Suites (Photoshop and InDesign)
  • Software proficiency in 3d architectural software (Rhino3d, Sketch-Up, 3d max, Lumion and Enscape) is preferred but not required
  • Excellent digital visualization skills and good freehand graphics are a must.
  • Fully competent in all conventional aspects of L. Architecture.
  • Professional work habits; Multitasking, well organized, efficient deadline management, good notetaking
  • Team player, thought leader, passionate and self-motivated professional
  • Strong sense of design and detailing; experience in design and construction documentation with quality-built projects
  • Collaborative thinking, design coordination with internal/external teams/consultants
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments, while mentoring junior staff and balancing project responsibilities
  • Possess clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Previous landscape architecture office or studio/architectural experience that includes work on design development and construction documents is required.
  • Planting knowledge especially Arizona planting is required
  • Site grading knowledge is preferred

Education & Experience:

  • 5 to 8 years of professional experience in L. Architecture or related field
  • Professional Degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture/related field
  • Licensed Landscape Architect or actively working towards licensure preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods while working on a computer or drafting
  • Frequent use of hands for typing, mouse control, and operating office equipment.
  • Excellent eye-hand coordination and visual acuity to distinguish details in technical drawings and computer screens
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions such as typing and mouse movements
  • Ability to stand, walk, & use stairs occasionally for site visits or meetings
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 20 pounds, such as laptops, documents, and supplies
  • Clear communication skills for discussing projects with team members and clients
  • Comfortable working in a typical office environment with standard lighting and temperature controls
