Job Description:


We are currently hiring for a Legal Assistant/Secretary position at a well-established civil defense law firm in the greater Portland Metro Area. This direct-hire opportunity with our partner offers a chance to support the long-term growth of their practice.


Key Responsibilities:


As a Legal Assistant/Secretary, you will play a crucial role in providing legal support to multiple attorneys. Your responsibilities include typing, editing, and formatting legal documents and correspondence, filing documents with various courts, telephone communications with clients and business contacts, file maintenance, substantial data entry, opening/closing files, conflict checks, and other assigned tasks. Strong attention to detail is a must.


Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of legal secretarial experience, preferably in Insurance Defense litigation.
• Familiarity with Oregon and Washington court rules.
• Proficiency in word processing and the ability to quickly learn new software.
• Strong spelling, grammar, punctuation, and legal terminology skills.
• Understanding of legal procedures and the ability to read and comprehend court rules.
• Experience with Clio Manage and FasterSuite is a plus.
• High level of attention to detail and the ability to take initiative.
