Job Title: MIG Welder Job Description

We are seeking skilled MIG Welders proficient in using .035 hard wire to join our team. You will work with mild steel, ranging from 1/8" to 1/2" in thickness, with special projects requiring up to 1" thick steel. This role requires expertise in reading and understanding blueprints, knowledge of welding symbols, and the ability to set up welding machines independently. The ideal candidate will have experience in fitting parts using fixtures, ensuring welds are clean, smooth, and free of sharp edges.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding using .035 hard wire on mild steel of varying thickness.
• Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
• Set up and operate welding machines, including configuring amp and volt settings.
• Fit-up parts using fixtures to ensure accuracy.
• Ensure all welds are clean, smooth, and without sharp edges.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently.

Essential Skills

• MIG, FCAW, GMAW welding processes.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and welding symbols.
• Experience in setting up welding machines independently.
• Proficiency in fitting and fabrication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• At least 1 year of welding experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of stainless steel welding.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Experience with TIG welding is a plus.

Work Environment

Join a dynamic weld/paint shop with 120 employees, including 80 welders, working on projects for the railroad/transportation, military, construction, and oil/gas industries. The facility includes a paint booth and numerous weld stations. Available shifts are 1st shift from 5:00am to 1:30pm, and 2nd shift from 1:30pm to 10:00pm, Monday through Friday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.
