Capstone Healthcare Staffing is seeking a compassionate and reliable OR RN (Registered Nurse) to join our team and provide high-quality perioperative nursing care at a partner medical facility in Herrin, IL. In this role, you will function as a key member of the surgical team, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care before, during, and after operative procedures. Responsibilities include conducting preoperative assessments, verifying patient histories and consents, preparing the operating room and equipment, and ensuring proper sterile technique and infection control standards are maintained at all times. During procedures, you will provide circulating and/or scrub nurse support, anticipate the needs of the surgical team, monitor the patient’s status, and respond promptly to any changes in condition. Postoperatively, you will assist with patient recovery, pain management, documentation, and communication of care plans to PACU and unit staff. The OR RN will utilize strong clinical judgment, excellent communication, and meticulous attention to detail to deliver safe perioperative care across a variety of surgical specialties. You will be expected to document all care accurately in the medical record, follow all facility policies and evidence-based protocols, and collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to support optimal surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
