Overview Job Posting Title: Parking Enforcement Officer I Hiring Department: Parking and Transportation Services Position Open To: All Applicants Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt from FLSA Earliest Start Date: Immediately Position Duration: Expected to Continue Location: UT Main Campus What You Will Do Provide university parking services by enforcing university rules and regulations. Assist the public with information, such as directions to buildings and offices. Perform a combination of duties including issuing citations, acting as kiosk guard, providing battery jumps and key assists, and operating the boot truck/university vehicle as directed. Patrol designated areas by walking, bicycle, cart, or motorized vehicle while issuing citations or warnings. Install and remove immobilization devices and assist with events setup and teardown (cones, barricades, signs, and sign covers). Carry out lot counts, lift immobilization devices and related equipment as needed, and support Events staff as required. Write incident and campus condition reports and convey information to supervisors or management. Report irregularities, emergencies, or suspicious activity to University Police Department. Perform other related functions as assigned. Occasional weekend, holiday, comp time, and overtime hours may be required. Must work a minimum of two home football games each year in addition to specified holiday periods. Qualifications Required Qualifications: High school degree or GED. At least one year of experience in public interaction or direct customer service. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions, with strong teamwork and communication skills. Experience completing reports, maintaining database records, and managing files. Proficient computer skills. Professional demeanor, attention to detail, punctuality, and dependable attendance. Clean driving record at time of hire and the ability to operate a university vehicle under UTDRIVERS qualifications. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications: Three or more years in direct customer service or high public-contact roles. Extreme patience in stressful situations. Prior experience as a ticket writer or security guard. Familiarity with tablets. Prior experience in university parking enforcement. Experience with T2 software and license plate recognition (LPR) systems. Driving This job requires a class C operator's driver’s license. The applicant must provide a current three-year driving record from the state of residence. If not a Texas resident, obtain a Texas driver’s license within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. CDL holders may be subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, follow-up). Salary Salary Range: $41,600+ depending on qualifications, with paid overtime.
