Summary

Interviewing Now (Sept.-June Availability) -
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our teaching team and explore the world with young children. Cub Care Children's Center has been providing excellent early childhood education programs since 1998 and is a Quality Stars NY participating center with a four-star rating. We are looking for a special individual who enjoys helping young children get off to a great start by building early learning and social skills in a culturally responsive environment that will last their lifetime.

Duties

As an On-Call Substitute you must exhibit the ability to ...

• work cooperatively with the classroom staff and assist in coordinating activities with other staff members.
• complete preparation and organization of learning materials for the classroom.
• assist in the implementation of the lesson plans to support children in achieving the learning goals.
• build on your experience working with children, demonstrate creativity, flexibility, good communication skills with children and adults.
• communicate consistently, effectively, sensitively, and respectfully with families and refer them to the Lead Teacher for details regarding their child's classroom experiences.
• possibly be given the opportunity to join the team full time when an opening arises.
• complete a minimum of 15 hours of training/coaching annually in the required content areas as specified by the Office of Children and Family Services.

Requirements

Preferred: Associates Degree or CDA (Child Development Associate) Certificate
Min Requirement: High School Diploma and 2 years experience working with children ages 2-5

• On-Call/Part-Time Substitute (typical hours 8:30 am-2:30 pm)
• Health Check Required
• Fingerprinting Required
• Background Check Required
• 3 References Required with at least one from an employer, student teaching supervisor, or volunteer coordinator if possible.

Nice To Haves

• Previous Experience working with children ages 2-5 preferred
• CPR/First Aid Certification preferred but not required
