Senior Land Surveyor Pleasanton, CA | Full-Time Salary: $130,000–$180,000 DOE + Annual Bonus At R.E.Y. Engineers, we're looking for an experienced Senior Land Surveyor to help lead the continued growth of our Bay Area Survey Division. This is an opportunity for an accomplished survey professional who enjoys mentoring others, solving complex technical challenges, and delivering exceptional work for public agencies and private development clients throughout Northern California. As a senior member of our team, you'll oversee complex survey projects from proposal through final deliverables while working closely with our Principal Surveyor, project managers, engineers, and clients. You'll play a key role in developing staff, improving workflows, and helping shape the future of our Pleasanton office. What You'll Do You'll lead all phases of survey projects while serving as a technical resource and mentor to the survey team. Responsibilities: Manage boundary, topographic, ALTA, right-of-way, construction, and land development survey projects. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to survey crews, office staff, and junior surveyors. Oversee field and office survey operations, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Review and approve maps, legal descriptions, Records of Survey, Corner Records, plats, easement exhibits, and other technical deliverables. Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews for survey calculations, mapping, and project documentation. Interpret deeds, title reports, easements, subdivision maps, and historical survey records. Coordinate with engineers, contractors, developers, utility companies, public agencies, and clients throughout the life of each project. Assist with project planning, scheduling, staffing, budgeting, and workload management. Support business development by preparing proposals, developing client relationships, and identifying new project opportunities. Help establish best practices, improve workflows, and contribute to the continued growth of the Pleasanton Survey Division. What We're Looking For We're seeking a proven leader with extensive technical surveying experience and a passion for developing people. Qualifications include: Current California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required. 8+ years of progressively responsible land surveying experience. Demonstrated experience managing complex public works and land development survey projects. Extensive knowledge of California boundary law, subdivision mapping, and survey regulations. Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and modern survey equipment including GPS, robotic total stations, and laser scanning technologies. Proven ability to lead field and office survey teams while managing multiple concurrent projects. Strong communication, organizational, and client relationship skills. Experience mentoring junior staff and fostering professional development. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams. Why R.E.Y.?
