Remote may be consideredPrimary Responsibilities: Provide employee benefits law support for mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, including post-closing support for acquired benefit plans Assist with processing of participant claims and appeals and Qualified Domestic Relations Orders Review Powers of Attorney and guardianship ordersReview Form 5500 filings and qualified plan audited financial statements Respond to and track ERISA document requests Respond to subpoena requestsAssess and advise on resolution of payroll-related compliance, plan corrections and other benefits administration issuesResearch and analysis of applicable ERISA, tax, and state laws and regulations pertaining to retirement, health and welfare, time off programs and other employee benefit arrangementsDraft resolutions, delegations of authority, and other documents for employee benefit plan adoption, amendment, termination, merger, change of vendor, and other events Draft/review benefit plan documents, summary plan descriptions, time off policies and other required disclosures for employee benefit plans Prepare IRS determination letter application filings, IRS Voluntary Compliance Program application submissions, and other regulatory filings Support benefit plan nondiscrimination and other testing Support the development of employee benefits communications directed to employees Consult with internal and external legal counsel as appropriateMonitor legal developments in employee benefits and paid leave programsHandle review process of conflict waivers requested by law firmsYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in paralegal role(s)3+ years of experience in employee benefitsExperience providing legal support for mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures Experience working with Microsoft Suite, including Copilot and OneNoteProven solid organizational and project management skillsProven solid communication, drafting, and research skillsProven resourceful problem solver with a positive, can-do attitude and an ability to thrive in a self-service environmentProven solid ability to collaborate and build relationships across the enterprise and to gain and maintain credibility with internal and external partnersAbility to model corporate values of integrity, compassion, inclusion, relationships, innovation and performancePreferred Qualifications: Paralegal certification Certified Employee Benefits Specialist Experience in a corporate legal environment Experience working with T360 and iManage Experience using AIProven working knowledge of paid leave lawsPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
