Purpose The Sustainability Coordinator will play a vital role in enhancing and promoting the University Housing and Dining (UHD) sustainability initiatives, focusing significantly on student engagement and activities. This position involves developing partnerships, conducting outreach, representing UHD in sustainability spaces, administrative needs, and managing the UT Farm Stand student program. The Coordinator will recruit, hire, and manage student workers, fostering a hands‑on educational environment for students. Responsibilities Provide administrative oversight for the UT Farm Stand student programs. Foster a collaborative and educational environment for students engaged in sustainability projects. Oversee student employee schedules and attendance. Attend and coordinate all student events. Provide oversight for the Sustainability Living Learning Community programming. Coordinate activities related to green fund projects associated with UT Farm Stand. Recruit, interview, hire, and manage the UT Farm Stand student employees and student managers with Sustainability Manager. Manage student communications and act as liaison between student employees, garden coordinator, and sustainability manager. Ensure that student employee responsibilities are assigned appropriately and establish accountability for student tasks. Manage mandatory training for student staff. Organize student transitions, succession documents, and promotions. Track inventory and support program growth to enhance student involvement and learning opportunities. Manage purchasing student programs and basic budgeting needs as needed. Manager the sustainability office spaces and materials storage. Reserve spaces and oversee calendars for programs and events relating to sustainability. Support Sustainability Manager’s communications via email and calendar management. Uphold partner and stakeholder relations through regular communication. Attend and schedule student meetings including team, group, project, and individual meetings. Manage UT Farm Stand social media accounts and posting schedule in collaboration with UHD Marketing. Support UHD’s presence on campus and beyond in sustainability spaces in collaboration with Sustainability Manager. Represent UHD in sustainability-related meetings, committees, and collaborative projects, and tabling events with Sustainability Manager. Maintain relationships with campus sustainability partners, especially other UT Sustainability Coordinators. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelors Degree At least 3 years of experience coordinating or administering a sustainability program or similar. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications Experience with food production, farmer's markets, food procurement, education/outreach, and/or data tracking. Experience managing entry‑level staff and/or students. Experience with presentations and/or press inquiries. Proficient in Microsoft Suite. Salary Range $45,750 + depending on qualifications Working Conditions May work in all weather conditions. May work in extreme temperatures. May work around chemical fumes. May work around standard office conditions. May work around chemicals. Repetitive use of keyboard at a workstation. Use of manual dexterity. Climbing stairs. Climbing of ladders. Lifting and moving. Work Shift Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM. Hours and days can vary and may include nights and weekends depending on business needs. Retirement Plan Eligibility The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
