Judaic Studies Elementary School Classroom Teacher

Location: Great Neck, NY

Position Type: Full Time

The North Shore Hebrew Academy (NSHA) is a co-educational Modern Orthodox Yeshiva that inspires students to become passionate learners, critical thinkers, problem solvers and dedicated community members.

We are seeking a caring, experienced and dynamic teacher to join our Elementary Judaic Studies team as a classroom teacher. An ideal candidate will have experience teaching Hebrew and Judaic Studies through whole group, small group and independent instruction. Teachers are responsible for planning lessons, delivering differentiated instruction, assessing student learning, helping students to develop social and emotional competencies, communicating with parents, and collaborating with their colleagues. An ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for teaching Judaic studies, a love of teaching children, and a desire to model observant Jewish living.

Ideal Candidates will possess the following qualifications:

• Three years teaching as a head teacher in an elementary school preferred

• MA degree in education preferred

• Hebrew fluency required

• Experience with TalAM preferred

• A teaching philosophy that focuses on growth in academic, social and emotional domains

• A collaborative, teamwork-oriented approach 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  

Salary Range: $60,000-75,000
